Example Projects

The work is also not limited to students, many professionals come to Windaid and find a passion for something new such as community engagement, language tutoring, welding, electronics or hone their existing skills. Most of these long-term projects lead to experiences that lands a person a new job or set them on a career path. Another example is a person coming in with no real software or experience and then after more than 18 months at windaid, experimenting with various skills but most notably electronics and software automation, went on to become a full-time software engineer back in his country, fully attributed to the experience gained at Windaid.

My time as a WindAid intern was truly unforgettable! I learned so much about building wind turbines while getting to meet incredible people. Beyond the time spent working in the workshop it was also amazing to get to know Trujillo and Huanchaco. Learning more about Peruvian cuisine and learning how to surf are two things I’m so glad I got to do. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with the WindAid team and help light up a life.
