You can stay at the house 1 or 2 days before your program starts. Same situation whenever you finish your program.

Work schedule is between 9AM to 5PM from Tuesday to Friday. Mondays is from 2PM to 5PM. A car will pick you up from the Volunteer House.

Lunch time is 1 hour, between 12:30PM to 1:30PM or 1:00 to 2PM. We go to restaurants near by our workshop.

At 5PM we go back to the Volunteers House by car.

At 6PM your dinner will be ready at the Volunteer House and after that you are free to do whatever you want: GYM, hangout with other volunteers, etc.

Usually we organize fun activities at the house our outside such as: Karaoke, culinary activity, parties with local people, etc.

There are different areas in the workshop. Depending on your background and practical knowledge, you can attend all the activities or decide on a specific task during your stay. Some of the tasks are more oriented towards chemistry, electrical systems, aerodynamics, or mechanical, and there is always room for new projects!

WindAid always makes sure that the house, workshop and the community where we work are safe places for all members.

The Volunteer House is located in a safe area of the city of Trujillo. Trujillo generally is safe. However as a big city, it has their bad spots where nobody should go. This said, is better to always let us know before where are you planning to go and visit.

The workshop is located inside a university campus. It's very safe.

The communities we work with are rural areas where the majority of the families dedicated to the agricultural. It's also very safe.

1 USD is 3.63 soles and 1 Euro is 4 soles.

Living cost in Trujillo is cheap. You can find good meals from 12/14 soles. To get snacks, fruits and other type of food is very easy and cheap.

Public transportation is 2 soles. Taxi prices are between 7 to 30 soles (always depends how distance is the place and if you take it during the day or late night).

Travel can be expensive depending where you are planning to go, for example: Cusco and Machu Picchu (we recommend to plan this trip couple of months before coming). But there are other places to visit that are not expensive where you can do: surfing, trekking, sand boarding, hiking, etc. Usually having a budget starting from 400 soles should work.

Each program offers two times travel to the community: one is to install the base of the wind turbine and the last one is the turbine itself. This often happens during the first and last week of the program.

Yes. Usually we accept that volunteers take three days to travel. For example: from Friday until Monday morning.

This is possible only if they ask for it with 1 week of anticipation and if we are not late with any task that we have in the workshop.
